BEND, Ore. — Silver Rail Elementary School will remain closed through at least October 30 as Bend-La Pine Schools works with families and staff on plans for students to resume learning.

The district said there will be no classes for Silver Rail students October 26–30. A reopening date has not been announced.

Families Help Shape Next Steps

District leaders are asking Silver Rail parents and guardians to complete a return-to-learning survey. They are also meeting with teachers and staff to understand their needs and ideas for a safe transition.

Silver Rail will not hold parent-teacher conferences next week. Other district elementary and middle school students will attend classes Monday and Tuesday before their scheduled conference break.

Meals and Child Care Available

The Boys & Girls Club has extended child care availability for Silver Rail families through next week.

Free grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches for Silver Rail students are available on weekdays through October 27 at R.E. Jewell Elementary School, 20550 Murphy Road. Pickup runs from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Support for Recovery
